'If the doors of the church were to open, I would joyfully submit to the process of vetting, formation, and training in order to serve God's people in the role of a deacon. I work for the church and am humbled to serve the RCIA, lead bible studies, offer retreats, support young adults, catalyze community, and help the church connect with the wider community on matters of justice, service, and the common good. I long for the grace of Holy Orders, and the authority to stand as a formal witness of the church at baptisms, weddings, funerals. I desire to proclaim the Gospel in the assembly, preach the Word of God, and embody the servanthood of Christ in ministry to those who are most often forgotten - especially women who are victims of violence, people impacted by incarceration, immigrants, and workers who seek economic justice."
