Since I was a kid, I have longed to engage in the ministry of the Catholic Church. For 27 years I served as a Catholic Educator and Campus Minister and was thrilled to serve the students and families. Right now I am discerning my next step in Church life. How can I, as a women, become more fully amerced in the life of the Church and serving God's people in a ministerial way. I leaped for Joy when I heard Pope Francis' announcement of the possibility of women deacons in the Church. Women have a vast amount of gifts to give but few have an opportunity to serve the Church. I continue to pray for the Holy Spirit to guide Pope Francis, the Church and myself as we continue to discern God's call and direction.
