Patricia Sullivan

As a child growing up in Brooklyn, New York in the 1960s, our parish was always at the core of our family life. My parents were people of great faith who sacrificed to provide my sister and I with a Catholic School education. I was involved with church activities from a young age and throughout high school. During my 30's and 40's I turned away from my faith. It was there, but it was always on the back burner. During a severe emotional crisis when I was in the early 50's, I realized that God was calling me back home. It is often during our greatest disappointments and heartbreaks that God reveals himself to us. The struggles of life reveal His faithfulness and mercy! My entire life turned around from that point on. I am very active in my parish now , the ways aren't important to list. But whatever I am doing, I want people to see Christ through me. As a servant of God and his people, I want to devote my life to spreading the Gospel of His love and mercy. I feel God calling my name to serve him.
